Azure Cost Analysis Assessment
We helped Guestline streamline their Azure costs resulting in huge annual savings
independents of all sizes to achieve maximum occupancy at the most profitable rate. Based in the UK, they’re now growing revenues in 25 countries.

Objective
Guestline wanted to move to a new Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) that delivered enhanced guidance, better project support and improved cost savings.
Solution
Guestline identified Grey Matter as their new CSP and our team at Cloud Know How completed the transfer on behalf of both parties. After the transition our technical team also conducted an in-depth Azure Cost Analysis Assessment.
The team reviewed Guestline’s existing deployment plans alongside growth aspirations and were able to identify and recommend the most applicable and efficient Azure resources.
Over £250,000 of savings per year were identified from the cost analysis assessments. Over £50,000 was from dormant resources and the rest related to commitment-based licenses and reservations.
The team recommended leveraging Azure Hybrid Benefits for Windows and SQL environments, as well as rightsizing for Virtual Machines, containers and databases.
Guestline completed the original move to Azure to drive operational efficiencies and commercial gains. Not having to build and maintain their own infrastructure gave them better agility and improve their bottom line.

Outcomes
Our support in transferring Guestline to their new CSP, Grey Matter, gave Guestline greater peace of mind and the ability to work more dynamically, provisioning resources for products as and when needed. The cost analysis assessment meant that overall Guestline’s Azure expenditure was reduced by nearly 90%.
